Here is another from Kenya but this time taken in the morning sun as opposed to the afternoon rains.

This male was hanging around the females most of the morning and occasionally made his presence known with a determined roar.

    Austin,

It might have been sunny, but it looks a little windy. Beautiful Lion, nicely captured

    Hi Steve,

No. This is one that features in the BBC video clip. The final frame actually. As soon as I get the actual video file I will provide a link.

Yellow hammer on snow would have been impressive.

    Cheers

    Hi Austin,

Wow, I'm glad I took a look at the Wildlife Gallery today because this one made my afternoon, for sure. The windblown mane and the growl are a double whammy and both are featured in precious morning light. The shot really makes my heart go pitter-patter and is a good example for other photographers to consider when looking for the WOW factor. Well done!

The roar makes for a very dramatic image! Great color and detail in the mane as well.

    Hi Austin

beautiful Male you have captured here, i know this one well with his unmistakable golden mane, could he be grimacing though from the scent of the females, rather than a roar!

I like the line of mountains and trees in the BG. The flowing mane makes this one.

Dynamic pose, specimen, wind in the face, and composition. Like it a lot.

What a nice image. Must have been magical to be so close to him. Very powerful.
