Hi everyone,
Sorry I haven't been posting much. I have been in Bosque del Apache. Artie and I had our Blurry Day Workshop today and it went very well. We had nice blast offs and early morning Fire in the Mist chances. Here is one of the Snow Geese blast offs for the weekly theme.
1/8 sec. at f/25, ISO 200, 500mm +1.4
Are you trying to tell us its a good bird turnout this year? :D
Wow, that's a LOT of snow geese! I love everything about this except the dark area along the left frame. That I'd either clone or cut. I like the blue in the ULC and the gold streaks running through it. I bet it was a beautiful day looking at this!
Ditto on the comments above. I agree with Jules on dark spot, left side, although I might lighten it up to match the dark lines on the right side for better balance. Just a thought. It must have been an absolute rush to be there..................
Beautiful blur, Denise. To me, it is the gold and blue streaks that makes it so much more interesting. Agree with Julie on the dark patch. Looking forward to more from Bosque...
Having been there many times.....I think you captured the essence of the blast off very well. I was OK with the dark patch Jules mentioned.....but do think it would be even stronger w/o it or toned down to the color of the UL!
The blur offers a different way of looking at reality while not totally obscuring the subject. Had I seen this shot hanging on a wall, I would have guessed that it's waterfowl taking off.
