    Great pose Marc. I think you have a Steppe Buzzard rather than a Steppe Eagle.

    I can only go by what my guide & tracker told me, they both had quite a debate as to whether it was an Eagle or Buzzard species. My guide was quite adamant it was an eagle.
    I have just done a comparison with my Birds of East Africa-Stevenson&Fanshawe guide and it's not easy to distinguish.
    Happy to be corrected :)

    Marc,

    Let's face it identifying Raptors is not the easiest thing in the world unless you have lots of experience.

    Judging from my books it looks like a Steppe Buzzard, whatever it is it is very nice:)

    Nice light and take-off pose!! Looks like there is a halo around the bird that should be easy to take care of.
