    Default IPS Monitor

Hello, Has anyone got any opinions on the Dell UltraSharpTM U2711 27”W? It is on sale with a $350 saving. What other monitors would you recommend at around $800?

The PA241W-BK-SV and PA271W-BK-SV have good reviews.

SV stands for Spectraview (colorimeter). You can buy without the colorimeter in case you already have one (PA241W-BK and PA271W).

Fabio, nice monitors but a little pricey for me and hard to find in the Vancouver area.

I don't know where you checked prices but the PA241W (without the colorimeter) was selling for no more than Us$799. As a reference now it's $999 at B&H.

Btw I'm in Brazil and prices would be 200% to 300% from what you pay in USA. I don't know prices and where to shop in Canada but it should be closer to US prices. If that's the case, I'd go for it. If not now, when possible.

You can check Pricegrabber and verify when its price come down to $799 from a reliable store.

And a little off topic, I wouldn't invest in a professional monitor without a DisplayPort.

None of our local big box stores stock these kinds of monitors. Only a few dealers have NEC products, I've called but have had no response yet.

I too, am in what others would recommend.

I have considered the 24 inch Nec mentioned, but a little more than what I want to pay.

I was considering the below 24 inch Hp as an alternate. Any negatives on it?

Please keep it simple for us non tech savvy people, but what should one be looking for in a monitor that want break the bank.
