I made this Image at Eco pond after a rather slow morning at Ahinga trail.

40D, 500 f/4 IS, 1/800 @ f/5.6, manual mode, spot metered, iso 400, raw, tripod, slight crop and I cloned out a few distractions in the water.

Very nice exposure control and water color. I might crop a bit off the top and wish for a catchlight.

Very nice. Agree with Axel about the exposure and water. As I recall, it's tough to get a good lighting angle at Eco pond so tough to always get that catchlight, but I do like that I can see some detail in the eye.

If there is a faint catchlight visible you could always dodge it to make it more apparent. I like the plumage in the blacks, as already stated good job on the exposure. Also could use a crop from above (removing about 1/3 of the current empty space).

Like the others said, exposure it great and color of the water too. The feathers standing up help add something to this image.
