Default Brown bear cub with mother

Taken during a bear boat trip in September 2010. The mother's face is out of focus but love the expression on the cub's face.

the cub's face is very cute Monte...unfortunately the OOF mother isn't working that well for me here...I would try a much tighter crop on just the cub to eliminate her from the scene as I find she distracts IMHO. I like the "wet look" and would also tone down the blues a tad?

Love the expression of the cub and the detail. Agree about trying a tighter crop.

Lovely pose on the cub, shame about the OOF mum and agree with Morkel that it detracts somewhat and might benefit on a closer crop on just the cub.

Agree with above comments. Did you by chance take this as a vert also, just the heads and shoulders?

I agree with everybody's suggestion about the crop, I suppose it just depends on whether you can maintain IQ.

Cropped image, not as sharp as I hoped.

    Monte,

I have had a play with the original post, I must tell you that you need to post the best quality image, using the method recommended by Artie and described in Steve's sticky at the top of this forum.

I have used methods described in APTATS 1 a very worthwhile investment available from the BPN shop.

What do you think, obviously starting with the original RAW will result in a far better result.
