    Default Wind on the Water

The sky was very overcast when I went out this morning and it was a brisk 19 degrees! Brrrr!!! That's the first time this fall I've had to wear a winter coat, hand warmers and a hat. :(

But, when the sky started to break up a bit the wind picked up and the water got stirred into a frenzy as the ducks went by. (For that reason, I'm always glad to see those ducks!) Converted this to black and white in RAW as there wasn't much color there in the first place.

Curves adjustment, surface blur and sharpening.

Now I gotta run...the time to head out for turkey dinner has arrived! Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Beautiful design and tones. I do wish it were in color.

What color would you like, Anita? I do have many tools at my disposal...

:p I'm just not much of a B & W person, with some major exceptions.

Happy Thanksgiving Jules, I love the mercury colored water and this may be my new favorite of yours. Lovely!

Hi Julie, love the patterns in the water. I think it works well as a B&W. Well done!

Thanks everyone...here's a comparison image with a copper colored hue added over the top.

Jules, the OP looks fantastic! Denise's mercury comment is spot on.

I was just playing with various photo filters and there's no end to what can be done with this. :)

Ken, you're right...that's one of the reasons I love to shoot the water images on very overcast days...it gives them a very monochromatic feel and then you can cinvert them to anything you want.

Of course the colorful images are special, too! But I do love how the b&w brings out the various shades of gray and the movement of the water shows up so well in these kinds of images.

Another beauty, Jules. The diagonal wave action in the left portion is way cool. Nice tight shot, really focuses on the liquid metal texture................congrats.

Being a "color" person, I'm partial to the second post. :-)

Another beautiful composition, Julie. The whole series is outstanding. I like the original posting with different shades of black. TFS.

Anita, that one is just for you! I love color, too, but there are times when I get the itch for black and white and this was one of 'em!

Thank you Indranil, I'm so glad you like the series. :)
