    Hi Nonnie,

What a catch to get a yawn (roar?) like that from such a beast. It looks like it is about to unhinge its jaw. Unfortunately, this image suggests that the 1DMarkIV is mortal because I'm seeing some noise at this ISO setting. I'm wondering why you had it set so hight at 2500 as your shutter speed is incredibly high for this shot at 1/8000. This one might have been a bit nicer at a mere ISO 800, still buttery smooth for your 1D. Thanks for showing me nice cat at what appears to be the late afternoon....just a guess.

Thats quite a yawn. Agree with Danny here re. iso, trade the ss for lower iso here.

Agree with others re ISO. I do like the leopard pose and the streaky sky which I find quite appealing.

    Nonnie,

Great image, the Leopard is in a good uncluttered position, and is clearly enjoying a nice warm up.

I think with little more processing you could bring out a lot more in this image.

Here is my attempt, I selected the BG with Magic Wand and ran some NR, then I opened up the middle in levels, did a little gardening and finally a round of Smart Sharpen, 0.1 at 100%, lens blur.

May still need a little more off the top.

Great timing but agree with the others regarding ISO.

I did mess up on the ISO . The weather was changing . It was cloudy and rainy earlier and then forgot to change ISO as the weather improved .

@ Danny - It's me who is mortal more than the camera . Yes , the time was late evening , the last rays before dusk .
@ Ken - Thats a so much better lookig version . It gives me hope I can do better with the PP .

Looks like one of those sea-side images. The yawn is a nice catch here!! I quite like the re-post by Ken.
