Another attempt to get this guy on dark background. Same shooting conditions mentioned in my previous post.

Post processing: S/H adjustment, cloned out bright spots and shadow on the wing.

Sid, nice work on the wing. Though I am a fan of pure black backgrounds combined with sunlight, I actually like the original capture better. The hint of background in the UL and LR corners of that image help to anchor things for me. Don't get me wrong; the presented version works fine as well, but I think the original is especially nice.

    Cheers,

I agree with you on that. Looking both images side-by-side I like the original as it is. Thanks for critic.

I like the original better as well. I liked the simplicity of the twig in yesterdays post. Nice image Sid!

Yep. That twig went very well with wing position. Thanks

    Sid,

Both images, today and yesterday, were dramatic and beautiful shots. I think I like this one a little better. Sometimes it's easy to start taking shots like this for granted but I know a lot of work goes into such an amazing capture. Keep em coming!

Im going for your OP BG. Good flight pose, and the blue's of the heron stand out very well against the darker BG.
