Man, you must get a rush when you see an image like that in your viewfinder and know you nailed it! Excellent on all counts both artistic and technical. Maybe would've liked to see just a bit of separation between tip of tail and perch (the wooden one:p).

Good neutral background. What would you think about moving the subject just a little to the right. Maybe just to center the eye. These subjects never hold still for me. One of my favorite Kingfisher Images!

Great shot, composition is perfect, I already knew this photo from yor site...but I love to see it again in bigger...I think the one you have in your site has a bit more of saturation...

    Hi Alan,

A beautiful hen with a huge catch. Did she beat it agains the perch before eating it? I watch them do that all the time at my kingfisher hole. I think Humberto is right that one more notch of saturation might bring out the natural color of the slate blue on this species....just a thought. Take care.

Stunning image. Simply stunning. The clarity and detail are excellent and, of course, having the fish is the icing on the cake. Top stuff :D

I like the light, detail and sharpness, and good to see his catch.

Beautiful, sharp kingfisher shot. Composition is perfect for me. I would probably mask off the background and up the saturation a hair just on the bird/twig. Superb!

Unmistakably your style Alan:) Superb technicals, would consider a bit more saturation
