Another from the other day with a low angle. A bit more of the fg and bg is in seen in this one.

I think a few more issues with this one as compared to the photo I posted yesterday.

Sun angle was a bit more severe.

    50D, 500mmf4, 1/1600, f5.6, Av +2/3, ISO 400.

Dave, I can't say I'm loving the blurred rocks in the FG but I'm thinking when the snow hits...you'll have some amazing images! You're doing a great job of pinpointing the focus; I'd also like to see you go a little deeper and include a bit more of the area in front of the bird as well.

And are you sure that's a sparrow? Got the breast of a house finch to me but I'm not sure about that. HA, pose and details on the bird are very strong!

Perhaps a tiny bit off the bottom would help out. I agree, I am not a big fan of oof fg.

I posted this one to show a bit of comparison with the GC Sparrow I posted the day before at a very low angle.

The settings for both photos were not ideal, gravel walking paths.

Light angle not very good on this one as well.

And I am pretty sure it is a Song Sparrow.

Dave, Nice job getting low. I wouldn't crop any off the bottom if it were mine. It might end up looking too tight. Sharpness looks good. Would like to see it on a perch or a single rock. Nice job w/ this.
