    Default Brown Thrasher

I'd really like some feedback on this image. I don't typically like images with busy backgrounds but for some reason I have really liked this image from the moment I brought it out of post-processing. To me, there is just something about the way the Thrasher stands out against this background.

The image was made on a summer morning at Jacobsburg State Park in Pennsylvania using a Canon 30D and 400mm f/5.6L lens tripod mounted.

    1/200 sec at f/5.6; ISO 200; EC=0; No Flash

    Image has been cropped.

I can see why you like it!!!
I would call it a habitat image, and the birds stand out from the background, in good light.

I would crop some from the right, though :)

Thanks for the feedback. I did some additional cropping. Does this look better?

I also changed this image since I didn't like the first crop I did.

Very nice environmental image. I would also crop some off the bottom.

In the image that I further cropped, I noted that I replaced my original "further crop" with the one there. The reason I did not like the first crop was that I cropped the top and bottom a bit more (can't go too far on the bottom without clipping the tail) and felt that it lost some of the environmental quality and started to take on a portrait quality with a busy background. It just didn't feel right.
