    Attached Images Attached Images

I took a picture of this Oak leaf on a walk today.

    Nikon D300, Sigma 105mm macro, handheld, f3, ISO 200, 1/200 sec., A priority.
PP: Elements 7 and PS7: I pulled out detail as described here. I added 3 of my textures, made basic adjustments, added vignette.

    C&C always appreciated.:)

Excellent work, Anita! Nice detail in the leaf, and the square crop was a good choice. I love the golden color tones and the leaves in the BG. Well done!

Anita, great color work on this. Excellent DOF @ f/3. I might have bended in the the OOF BG pattern the sits
atop the leaf for a more 3-d look. There is a small artifact just above the leafs top edge. Good work.

Thanks! I debated about the BG above the leaf. I blurred it some, but ran out of energy. Thanks for pointing out the artifact, which is the result of cloning.

Anita, I love this composition and the color tones! Also appreciate the reference to the tutorial. I have heard a lot about high pass sharpening, but never looked into it. I will give this a try to bring out more detail in some of my photos.

Very nice image and application, Anita.

    Nice colors.

I might have tried to get the branch to come out of the LRC, if it were mine. But nice image non the less.

The golden color is lovely and the detail really shows well. The textures complement it nicely. Thanks for the tutorial link. I was looking at his site and found the interview with you! I enjoyed it very much and it was a nice tutorial on photographing flowers. http://photogeneralist.com/?cat=11

He has some excellent and creative photos, I'm very impressed. He should do more tutorials as I saw several of his images that I'd like to find out how he processed them.

I think this is a good suggestion. That would have also rotate the leaf so it wasn't so parallel to the bottom edge.

Thanks. I completely agree about Dan Creighton's photos and tutorials. I will pass on your suggestion to him as he is a member of the photo club I belong to.

Thanks. You can do high pass sharpening without the double RAW processing. Here is an easy tutorial http://www.luminous-landscape.com/tu...arpening.shtml
