A bit of pre mating action from Kenya.

I don't normally chop legs and limbs off animals, so to break with tradition, I decided to stick with a fixed lens when this pair came into close range, rather than go wide.

This behaviour is typical during the time when the male is waiting to mate. I think she is saying that she has a headache.....

Very dramatic! Like the light in this as well.

Hi Austin, I think they are just trying to swat that irritating dragonfly (?) nothing more:D:D Can't help feel I would liked to have seen this wider, sorry, but it still tells a story. Love the light though.

    Austin,

This is an exciting image and I looked at it for a long while. You can see stuff coming out of the big guys roar in the shot and I love how you've captured the detail in his mane. The look on the other's face is priceless and as mentioned above, you had some wonderful light for this shot. Nice one.

Nice light and action captured. She certainly does not appear to be " in the mood ". Would also like to see more of the cats but works as presented as well.

I also usually tend to go wide in these instances Austin - but I like what you did with the prime lens here. Nice close-up which shows more detail on their facial expressions. Light was sweet. Also curious if the OOF object is a dragonfly or a patch of grass kicked up by her objections?

Great light and great action Austin. I would agree that a wider view might have been the way to go here.

Austin, good interaction between the two, and I actually like this tighter crop. Killer light and details.
