    Default Topaz InFocus

Hi Topaz InFocus was released today/yesterday.

Anyway, it is significantly discounted for a short period.

I ran the program on a posted image http://www.birdphotographers.net/for...154#post598154

I only used the default "common" without any tweaks.

    What do you think?
    Cheers, Jay

Tried it, and it seems to have alot of potential, and I think it better than Topaz Detail 2. I wish they had just called it Detail 3 and I would have a free upgrade. Seems to have the typical sharpening downside; noise, and I can't tell yet if is better than high-pass sharpening that I usually use, but I suspect it might very well be, and I'll probably get it before they charge full price (Dec3) regards~Bill

As I already had the Topaz bundle I went for the discounted InFocus.
Not disappointed. Just used the sharpening slider so far but fine tuning is quick and easily adjusted.

It looks interesting but I would have to do more with it. I have until 12-3-10 to decide before the price goes up.

I'd like to see a proper comparison between it and smart sharpen in CS5.

    Tim,
Propose an interesting image here (probably best to start a new thread here in digital workflow) and people can apply the favorite software at it, or we could use the bird image in the thread:
    Important Sharpening Information!

It's my understanding that it can sharpen an image or part of an image that is slightly OOF...Hmmmm...Interesting to where this goes

Taking a big bite from a freshly prepared crow sandwich, I retract my earlier skeptical comment. :o

I downloaded the trial version of InFocus and my initial impression is that it's a very worthy plug-in.

I'll play with the free 30-day fully-functional version before making a final purchase decision.
