    After some waiting it felt good when she took off towards me.

    This is a female kestrel.

    Spec: 1/5000,F 4, ISO 500.

    I like this very much. Great exposure and detail, nice background colors. I would give some more space in front of the bird and just a tad more space behind.

    I'll bet it felt really good when she took off towards you in such nice light! I'm curious why you chose f/4 here; was it for shutter speed or DOF? Stunning image BTW!

    Superb image, Kiran! Techs are spot on, BG is beautiful and the pose is captured perfectly.

    I like the comp as is, but wouldn't mind seeing one with a bit more room all around.

    You have nailed another excellent image of this species Kiran. Light, colour, exposure , sharpness and eye contact all excellent - very inspirational.

    thanks Doug Bhai, I had set up for a SS of about 2500 when there was cloud cover, but when it took off the sun was shining. it was basically for better SS.

    Very nicely done! I suspect you waited patiently for some time for the kestrel to fly toward you. F/4 got you the SS you needed, and I don't see any DOF problems at all; the kestrel is sharp all around. You may wish to tell the story of the bird's right-upward movement by leaving more room to the right and above.
