After getting worse and worse for the past few years Bosque is excellent this year. See yesterday's blog post here for more details.
This landing Snow Goose image was created with the 800mm f/5.6L IS lens and the EOS-1D Mark IV. ISO 400: 1/2000 sec. at f/9 determined by histogram check.
Clipped a wing tip; added canvas top. See original below.

Wicked landing pose, and seemless job on the primary repair, and of course perfect exposure:cool:. I do prefer the extra thickness of the orange layer at the bottom on the original though.
There's definitely a lot of potential at the Bosque this year! I'm hoping to make it down there after Thanksgiving. Good job with the wing tip. I do like the added color at the bottom of the original.
Lovely shot, agree with Daniel regarding the extra bit of orangey BG in the original post. The fact that it replicates the line of the hills in the distance is an added aesthetical bonus I think. Great work with the repair too.
"Bosque is Insanely Good Right Now..." because it is insanely cold (single digits below 0) & snowy (12-20 inches) in MT. The birds fled with the leading wave of this horrendously cold & wet cold front.
A lovely BIF image with a good job of adding the canvas at the top.
