    From my backyard setup, had really harsh light today so I went for a backlit high key effect

    1D MKIII
    300mm f/2.8L IS USM + 1.4TC
    580 EXII ETTL -1 1/3 stops
    Manual Mode
    1/640
    f/5.6
    ISO 400
    evaluative metering

    Love the pose given by the bird, the details in both black and white, very nice use of flash, and the sharpness. I think the dying sunflower goes very well with wash out/tint color mood.

    Good looking pose and a dandy perch.

    I like the high key but might try to get a little different colours on the bird. Perhaps setting black and white points would make a difference.

    Joel, this is very nice! I do find areas of the white BG to be a little too strong - especially near the bird's head. I do like the sunflower and the use of tint here and the pose/HA is very nice!
