    Default Darkness over the Smokies

This image of making something different from the ordinary in nature was taken, as were others recently, on our trip through the Smoky Mts. It has been done by others, in the past, including our own Denise, but hope you enjoy another version of the ordinary as presented here. It is a top crop of a scene of the mountains that was also shown in color here.

Modifications in CS4 included; Topaz Adjust, Selective Color, Fractalius, Shadow & Highlight and other normal adjustments in PS.

    Enjoy!

Nice monochromatic composition, Mark. This is different! I like the windblown effect on the mountains. Panoramic view makes this more interesting. TFS.

Gorgeous blue!! Mountains looking like ocean. The pano works really well here.

Mark, this is a really special. I love the blues and the wind takes it over the top. I wish there was a little more of the darkest blue at the bottom but I also love it as is.

The crop area is due to the forest below the image area. I felt this offered the best image and that having more on the bottom would distact from it. Also, I did not want to add canvas as I liked the effect. But I do appreciate your comments and did look at adding canvas to the top and bottom as needed. Just wasn't the right vision! :)

Mark, I'm catching up on some missed images and this is absolutely gorgeous. I love the pano crop and the layers of blue and subtle fract work. It really could be the ocean. Another possible pano crop would crop from the top just below the lighter blue but I'd be ecstactic if this were mine.:)
