    Default Hyena & Vulture

    Having driven a pack of Wild Dogs from their kill, these three hyaena set about scavenging the remains.

    I wanted to look beyond the normal tight crop of this type of behaviour. With the vultures starting to circle overhead, it enabled me to portray the dynamics of a wild dog kill;

    Wild dogs kill, Hyaenas take over with Vultures and Jackals on the periphery looking for their share.

    Unfortunately, the jackals were too far to get any good images.

    I like how you went for the wider compo here Russel! Nice light with inclusion of all the elements. Are the jackals between the 2 large trees off-centre to the RHS? struggling to make out detail on this small resolution :)

    Great light and I like the position of the hyenas. Like the bird in the top of the frame as well.

    Thanks for all your comments.

    Morkel, the jackals are actually out of frame on this crop, took about 10% off the RHS. Good spotting though :)

    The position of the hyenas mimic the tree positions well. I also like how the trees get larger from the left to right as that leads the eye through the frame. Nice work seeing the wider composition here.
