These birds are pretty uncommon in Australia. They breed mostly in Siberia and Alaska and visit Australia to enjoy our wonderful summers. Today I saw my very first Wandering Tattlers. They are just now starting to arrive in Aus from their super long journey.

Tony's comment on the bright rocks is a useful insight and easily applicable. I'm enjoying this shot, because, as you pointed out, the tattler is a rarity in your neck of the woods and because, as Akos pointed out, you probably were shooting a bird in constant motion.
