    Default Red-tailed Tropicbird

Photographed on Norfolk Island in the Pacific these guys are the acrobats of the sky. They group together and perform somersaults and loops riding the wind currents off the cliffs. Fantastic fun to watch and photograph.

Cool-looking bird with excellent feather detail. I find it fairly tight in the frame, and the sun angle is quite challenging. I might tone down the bright area above the bird.

    Thanks Doug,

Good point on the bright area above the bird. On reflection, it is somewhat distracting.

I agree with Doug. I do love the perspective you got with this guy and I also like its' arched pose! They sound like they are fun to observe and photograph.

Thanks Daniel. They were indeed a lot of fun, challenging conditions but great fun nonetheless.
