Great color and waves in the water. I'd take a touch more off the top.

Hi Rachel, did you ever see them snorkel, or blow bubbles whilst fishing with their heads were under water, very funny.

I like the rich blue and would agree with Steve, cropping some more off above the bear, perhaps half the space? Nice position of the bear coming into frame and the subtle wake of the water too. Not quite sure about why you are not getting the full amount of detail coming through on the bear, especially with the 'techs' you had? I guess Santa can't come quick enough now :D

You've done quite well with the given light conditions and exposure here Rachel.

Thanks Steve, Steve and Marc - I'll take a look at the suggested crop.

Rachel, I really like the effect of color and ripples on the water as well as the composition. Agree on the bit off the top. I can clearly see the large rub spot on the bear's back. Well done.

    Rachel,

Nice shot I think I prefer the OP, the crop is a little too severe for me.

Hi Rachel, the repost makes it much stronger for me, i can almost 'feel' the ripples pushing out from the bear now. Good expression on the face too. Perhaps slight loss of detail that Steve K is talking of comes from iso640 and shadow areas on the bear?? Very nice shot.

    Thanks everyone for the comments.

Grant - you are probably right, I shot this on AV priority (640 is not an ISO I usually use).

    Thanks again,
    Rachel

Great repost Rachel, and the more I see these guys, the more I itch to see them in real life. I can see he's enjoying his swim. Love the blue of the water.
