Hi Folks;
Gave the male Anna's a break and caught him resting on a branch.
Comments and redos always warmly welcomed

good detail and pose. Beautiful bkgr.but wonder about NR on the background. the catchlight in the left eye looks little peculiar. Curious how others feel about the hotspot on the forehead.

Hi Ray;
Thanks for looking. Is this any better?
Gus
Gus I like the repost better. I still think the midtones looked a little dark so I took the OP and reworked it a bit. I brought the high tone and mid tone sliders in a bit in a levels adjustment, cloned the bright spot on his pink head and then ran NR to clean up the BG a bit.
The only thing I don't like about the pose in this one is that one eye appears to be below the pink area and the other seems to be IN the pink area...it looks really odd! I know it's the angle of the photograph and not the bird but a better HA would be an improvement here.
You sure did get that tail nice and sharp, though!!!
:):) Looks nice, Jules . . .
Thanks
Gus
BTW: I explained the whole process on a painting in OOTB tonight about border etc.
Hi Jules;
Took your levels advice & redid my redo
Worked eyes?
Do you think it needs noice reduction?

Gus looks better.
Thanks

Now I think it looks good without more NR...I think you've got it, Gus. ;)
Gus, I've been enjoying looking at your hummingbird images. This one is my favorite. You did a great job getting the gorget color and detail. I've had many, many blown out male Anna's due to that beautiful red color. This is a great image.
