Default Hello from the San Diego area

DSLR photography has been a hobby of mine for only a couple of years, but I am definitely hooked. Hooked to the point of searching my house to find things to sell so I can buy that next great lens.;) I have always loved birds and have planted native plants in an effort to attract a wider variety of birds and butterflies to my little suburban back yard. My job as a 2nd grade teacher leaves me little time to practice photography during the school year, but I do spend a lot of time practicing during our breaks I am looking forward to learning from eveyone here.

    Welcome Nancy

This is a great place to better your nature photography skills. You could always sell the mother or father in law for more gear. :o Hey, why didn't I do that?

    Enjoy BPN!!!

Nancy, welcome to BPN! You sound a lot like me...I sold an old life insurance policy to buy my first camera and set of lenses! Hey, ya gotta do what you gotta do!

Looking forward to seeing your images. Feel free to stop by the Eager to Learn forum - lots of great info there in the critiques and the educational forum is also a great resource for learning.

Welcome aboard, Nancy. I like the way you think. I always try to sell something from my photography grab bag before buying something new. It doesn't always happen though. :o

I think you'll learn a lot here. YOu sure sound motivated. Have fun and happy shooting.

Welcome Nancy. I was just in Del Mar at Photo Expo West and will be back in JAN. One of my favorite spots on the planet. My folks lived there for more than 30 years after leaving NY?

Thank you all for the warm welcome. This is a great website.

I was at that Photo Expo too. I was the one asking all the questions about my 100-400 lens when we went on the walk about. I appreciated your talks and the lesson.

Don't worry about the email. I've decided to wait on a new lens and work on my technique.
    Thanks though.
