    It works for me Troy. I like the raised left wing & the open beak. The pose suggests to me that the bird was startled. I think you handled the exposure very well.

    What do they say? Shadows define. Personally I think this is a great image the shadows on the wing just pop. Well exposed, sharp, great background, eye contact!

    Yes, I like it. The eye is well lit and the near wing catches the light nicely.
