    Marc:

A challenge to expose because of the white/black combination. A good balance was achieved.

Nicely scaled perch, like the grip he has, good angle in frame.

There are a couple of arcing lines in the background to the right of tail and body, that catch my eye. Certainly could be natural, but wonder about some cloning work there?

    Cheers

    Marc:

    I thought so;)

Since this is a "fiscal" shrike, do they do a little accounting work on the side?:p

Marc, this is just beautiful. Perfect pose, clean bg and very nice perch.
Wonderfully exposed with lots of details. I see a halo around the head, but I could be wrong.

Super comp and pose Marc, and overall well exposed. I like your BG.

Randy and his accountant jokes, you gotta worry Marc! :D

All I have to say is that your bird photos have come a long way in the last couple of years mate. That 500 made a big difference I bet! :)

This guy looks pretty well framed and the BG is nice overall. As Randy said, those areas may need just a little touching up maybe with the patch tool. even if natural, just to smooth out a little. It's up to you mate. :) Well done!

    Thanks Akos

Any idea what causes the blotches? I'll try a small amount of gaussian.

I have no idea Marc, the only thing I can think of is the jpeg compression. In that case, you could touch up with the patch tool a little.

Very well composed with a great perch, in my monitor I also notice some BG problems...
