    Workshop: South Texas

    D3, 600, ISO 1600, f7, 1/5000, -0.3EV.

It's looking like this Lady is back again to spend the winter on the pond where I do my South Texas workshops. This was from a workshop earlier this year where all participants got many images of this bird.
    Check out that little foot!

Beautiful pose, magic BG and lighting Alan. Would wish for a tad more room on the left, one very fine image.

Superb. Was there low noise or did you run NR? I love the pose, especially that foot, the background, perch and light. I was also contemplate a little more room on the sides, especially to the left.

Slight noise reduction on the BG only.

Fabulous photo. Love the "punk rock" look and the foot. I rarely manage to get more than half of these little critters in frame. Well done.

Great Shot, one of my favorite and hardest birds to photograph.

When you "check out that little foot" be sure to look at the toes. Kingfishers have a rather uncommon foot design called syndactyly where the outer and middle toes are fused for half their length. This condition is visible (albeit rather small) in this lovely image.
