Captured this guy a few months ago. They are rather handsome with the big bill and lovely plumage. Forgot to mention, I deliberately left the muck on the bill. He was feeding after all and no one taught him how to clone his own bill for the photographer. :o

Akos, what a handsome bird indeed. Superbly sharp, and I love the comp. BG and detail are excellent too.
Did you make one with more DOF? (I know you were hand holding!)

    Akos,

Fabulous image, I agree with your decision to not clone out the "dirt", if you had not mentioned it I would not have known it was there.

Nice details and colours, and I'm OK with the dirty bill here too. I'd have referred you point your lens more to the right by a couple of inches, but still an effective portrait. Well done Akos!

    Akos, where do I get a 300 f1.4 lens :p

Superb head shot. Loved the bill texture and black details. Perfect HA and green BG going very well with the red.

    Yes KD, 1.4x.....

I should have cranked the ISO to 800 and lean the histogram right (to minimize noise) and I could have gotten a bit more. I was not game to drop to 1/100th.

Daniel, you are right, I keep thinking to keep the eye at the upper right ROT point, whereas it probably does not really matter. :)

I have some chicks with extremely HUGE legs, may post one soon. They are funny! As if they had someone else's feet! :)
