Default Is there a bird species known as a "Fish Hawk"

I have a couple of friends that insist that they have seen a species of bird called a "Fish Hawk". In all of my research I have only seen Osprey referred to has a fish hawk. My friends know what a osprey looks like, and insist that the bird they are seeing is brownish red and catches fish. Any help that can be offered to clear this matter up would be greatly appreciated.

I think fish hawk & osprey are synonymous. There is an African Fish Eagle.

If your friends saw the bird in Central or S.America, consider the Black-collared hawk, which is large, brownish-red and catches fish.
