Another IR image taken at Kanapaha Botanical Gardens. I used Nik Silver Efex Pro, pushed +1, and added a slight vignette.

Thanks for looking. Comments and suggestions appreciated.:)

Cheryl...Beautiful curve entry into a secret garden type of thing. Feels a bit like infrared. Like it a lot.

Cheryl, Nice IR work. You are going to force me to get an IR camera. Beautiful leading path. I might tone down the bright spot in the far BG middle/top if it were mine. Lovely!:)

Denise, thanks - it didn't look like that on the original - I'll go back and check it out. I'm not sure why when I check for blown out whites on a Tiff they are fine and when I downsize to JPG they are hot. There's probably a simple explanation but it's beyond me.

Cheryl, That sometimes happens when they get compressed -if the tiff is fine I wouldn't worry about it. :)

A real beauty Cheryl. Excellent tonal range and super textures and patterns of the plants.

A TIFF image has much more dynamic range than the JPEG of the same capture. You lose a lot of white detail in the conversion process, so it is not unusual to see whites that are already close to peaking get blown out when converted to JPEG. It is essential to evaluate the image after conversion, both for dynamic range problems and color errors.

What a ripper Cheryl! Love the fluffy looking ferns and the IR treatment really gives a unique vision to it. I must try sometime too! :)

I love this image Cheryl. Nice flow with the path leading us through the shot. Kerrys' comments on jpeg will help me also. We all win from this one.

Lovely IR image, Cheryl! The path leading you in is just perfect, and I love the look the IR gives to the plants. Very well done.

I'm so glad to see someone doing IR work. (I miss Oscar Z and Michael Pancier!) This is really beautiful, Cheryl - the way the lines of the path lead your eye down into the image. If I ever get the money together to buy a new camera I'm converting my 40D...I'd love to create stuff like this!

Julie, it was just a stroke of luck that I still had my 30D - the only reason I hadn't sold it was inertia And then I went to a presentation by Deb Sandidge on IR and I was hooked. Life Pixels does a good job if you ever decide to convert one.
