I'm down at the Bosque co-leading the official Festival of the Cranes bird photography worskhop. As we headed out this morning there were clouds in the sky. We decided to skip the Crane pools and go for the sunrise. We weren't disappointed!

    Doug,

I merged and then cleaned up the posts as they are the same.

I think I have seen that tree before!:p

Hi Doug, a beautiful sunrise for sure. A good choice to alter plans and shoot the sunrise - wouldn't want to pass up skies like that.

    Hey Doug,
I always wondered how the avian crowd could pass up those killer Bosque skies!!! I know the tree very well too! Colors are great and the balance of the FG to sky is very nice! You should start looking for more of them!!! Very nicely done!

Hi Doug, good choice changing plans and shooting this beautiful sunrise. A fiery sky reflecting beautifully in the water. Good placement of tree with detail showing throughout. Good one!

Can't resist a sunrise, lovely composition and colour. As others have said, tree placement is good.

Thanks for the feedback folks. Definitely out of my comfort zone doing landscape, but I do enjoy it!

Very nice image and placement of the tree. When you get conditions like you experienced the birds can wait. This will make a very nice print.

I will be in Bosque on Nov. 30 and hoping for the same type of sunrise.
