    Default Ruddy Turnstone

A ruddy turnstone shot in evening light at Port Aransas , Texas. I like the HA in this one. I would have preferred a better perch. I think I lost some details in the white due to jpeg conversion.

I actually quite like the perch and the BG as the mottling matches the plumage perfectly. I would evict the specular highlights one in line with the bill towards the RHS and the other below that just above the rock. Well done. :)

Nice exposure. I agree with evicting the specular highlights and I would consider toning down the bg if possible. I too like the perch (what is it?).
I would actually have preferred some more head turn.
Would have liked to see this bigger (1000 x 800 is the allowed limit)

I like how you've captured the reds in the birds upper parts. The pose and perch are fine, but I'ld love to have seen a lower angle.

Akos, thanks. I agree with you about the specular highlights. I try and remove them.

Sidharth, thanks thanks for the comments and tips. The perch and background was a granite block which makes the jetty where this was taken.
