    Default Wild Arctic Fox

Spotted this little fellow at the front step today. He was quite approachable! It was also snowing.

    Charles,

I agree with Morkel. Good looking portrait. I like the snow in the fur. The flash made them twinkle.

E5 camera? Who is the manufacturer?

    Thanks for posting.

Thank you Morkel, here is a re-worked image with a little bit of NR run on the BG.

It was indeed lit by a flash, because where I am living right now, there is no sun. 24 hrs of darkness.

    Harshad~Thank you.

Robert, the E5 is the latest Olympus DSLR.

Lovely creature. I like the wet fur and nose. Good detail, and job on repost. I might be tempted to crop it even tighter.

Thanks Marc, this was the first shot of a series I've done of him. He was curious for a SPLIT second, just enough for the AF to lock, then he was gone!

John, thank you. I've toyed with a tighter crop, but feel the room on both sides give the image depth.

    Cheers,

Thank you Sid. This was a once in a lifetime shot for me.

I am living in Resolute Bay, Nunavut, Canada.

I have been here for 6 months on a temporary work assignment. Dec 9 is Xmas for me as I am finally going home, on the east coast of Canada.:D

Thanks Morkel! Resolute Bay is indeed in the far north of Canada. The second northernmost civilian community in Canada! The coldest I've seen so far is only -58 with windchill :D

yes Morkel, it is indeed -58 Centigrade! In the south-eastern part of Canada (where I usually live), the temperatures can reach +45 C (with humidity) in the summer, and winters in the -30's :D A truly dynamic place to live!

    Charles,

Listening to Kabloona: Among the Inuit. If you ever get a chance check it out. You might find it interesting.

On the east coast, the temps do vary quite a bit! Thanks again for looking!

Sid, I'll have to look at that book when I get home. Looks VERY interesting. Thank you!
