Another bird that roams my yard but not easy to get a reasonable shot of. Pushing my luck with the high iso but I think I just made it? I was using a flash but it hadn't recharged for this quick shot as the bird suddenly stood up in a nice pose. I was lying prone.

That's an interesting crest - definitely not a common pigeon for those of us in other parts of the world. The lighting and composition are very nice, but the FG is a bit distracting. A lower vantage point might have helped, though it looks like you were fairly low already. You could try a bit of PP blur, but it's not horrible. I know the head angle police will be after you as well and there is very little catchlight in the eye, but overall, I like the image and find it capture this unusual (to me) bird quite well.

Nice pose of one of our common pigeons. But they are gorgeous. I feel it may be a little dark? Well done getting this mate. :)

Thanks. Akos dark overall or the bird? It was very overcast and I did darken the BG and raise the brightness and contrast on the bird to try and give it a lift, maybe not enough?

If that is what you saw, then that's fine mate. I was only thinking it looked a tad dark overall. Thanks for getting back. :)
