The tide and light were wrong for shorebirds images this morning, so I had to console myself with Honeyeaters and Cuckoos on the golf course instead.

Canon 7D 300f4+1.4tc, ISO640, f7.1, 1/3200, Av mode. Cloned branch interesting birds bill.

This is a perfect example showing off this gorgeous honeyeater. Great PP work mate and well done capturing this image. Love the foliage framing and the intense look. :)

BTW, remember you telling me about the Satin Bowerbirds at Cattai earlier this year? Check my birdline note for today! My Penrith ones are easy to access and I will be setting up my camera with a remote to hopefully capture some good behavior!

Hi Mark never seen one of these before. Nice exposure and detail, eye contact is great.

Looks very similar to our Babblers but you say it is a honeyeater.

Very typical habitat shot in that Banksia and the colours set off so nicely against that sky.

Beautiful bird and capture. Cloning work is excellent. I might crop this image a little tighter on the left side so that the bird is not quite so centered. Don't know if the original image was cropped or how much, but if you have more room on the right side of the original I would include it so that the bird has more space to gaze into. Overall, an outstanding image. Cheers.

Excellent detail Mark, and I like how he is keeping an eye on you. Comp works well, and nicely framed between the foliage.
