    Hi Folks;

    Busy day with visitors, so thought I would try something a little different when we got home just as the sun was going down: SP: 1/250s, f/3.5, ISO 200, Spot, sRGB, AWB, & Fill flash, Olympus TTL attached.

    Comments & redos always welcome.

    Best regards

    Gus

    Another super one Gus. I like the way the background almost provides almost a halo effect for the bird. Nice, effective wing blur too. I thin the composition is just right. I'm fine with the upwards tilt of the head as it implies the bird is move up to a flower to feed.

    Beautiful Gus! The sharp details on the face and the lovely BG make this special.

    Hi Gus

    Would love to see one of these...! Great shot and beautiful colours.

    What are the 'edges' in the background in the upper LHS? Rememants of a bit of PS work? I think it would help to soften these a bit as I find it a slight distraction.

    Hi Don;

    Thanks for your kind words. Now that you mention it, I do see the blotch you were talking about. Also agree that with a soft brush I could remedy it in a couple of minutes.

    Very nice, Gus! I do miss some detail showing in the right wing - that for me is a major flaw in this one and that's too bad because I love everything else about it. You just happened to catch it at the one split second that the wing was in the wrong position. Maybe you could duplicate the left wing and stick it on the other side? :):):)

    It's a beauty - the head angle, the details and colors - I just wish we had a little more wing to work with!
