Took the photo this summer but worked it with filters in PS for the softness.

Hazel, I like the colors, the filtering and the random feel to this one. I might evict the teeny tiny spot on the leaf if it were mine. Nicely done.:)

Hazel, this has a lovely painterly look and feel to it. The colors remind me of some of the color palettes used in oil painting. Can you tell us what filters you used?

You achieved lovely effects playing with filters. I especially like the colors--that they are limited and combine nicely. If it were mine, I would crop a bit off the top and clone out what remains of the flower in ULC. I wish that nearly horizontal leaf were a bit softer. Lovely image.

Agree with Anita on the horizontal leaf..............though the painterly feel of this image is wonderful. Would you let us know what filters you used to achieve this effect?

Thanks for the comments, esp about the leaf. See what you mean. I apologize that this time I didn't keep good track of my actions, but I remember using combinations of watercolor, poster, and glass filters and also a reduction in the vibrance. I'll keep better trace next time.

Hazel, I really like the glass filter look and the contrasting colors. The horizontal leaf seems a little out of place. Maybe you could select it and add some more glass distortion to just that part.

Very nice, Hazel! Lovely colors and grouping of flowers. The painted feel is awesome. :)

thanks for the suggestions re the horizontal stem. I selected it, darkened it a bit using selected color and increased the glass distortion. I also bumped up the yellow a bit. Better? I think the leaf isn't quite as distracting this way.

Hazel: You did a nice job in decreasing the presence of that horizontal leaf. I think the second image is stronger. Thanks for letting us know what filters you used. When one is experimenting it is hard to keep track of what one does. I'm going to play around with the filters you mentioned.
