Default Northern Gannet Taking a Rest

On Tuesday I was out shooting just before sunset on the northern end of Longboat Key, and someone pointed out an usual bird floating in the Gulf. I took my gear out, lifting it into the air for each wave...got wet up to chest level. The bird was so tame, I kept having to back up and finally removed my TC. It was well worth getting soaked.

    Canon 30D, Gitzo & Mongoose M3.2, 300mm F4L with 1.4x, shot at F5.6, 1/1000, ISO 640.

    Thank you for your comments.

    Marina:

a great opportunity to shoot a hard to find bird. Well worth getting wet to get that vantage point.

    cheers
