Hi Arthur,
This one almost looks like you captured it a the brink of a waterfall.
Nice title Artie! I like the low angle and perfect pose from the duck. Tack sharp and a good exposure as usual.
Looking forward to more!
I agree with Andrew...on the edge of a spillway?
Love the head angle, light and angle of the image.
Does not look like a spillway to me, the reason being the small ripple in front of the beak goes nowhere. Possibly 2 images layered.
Gary.
Yep. waterfall I reckon. Love the diagonal waterline and the soft BG, which is a given knowing the FL used and the camera to BG distance. Wonderful looking duck indeed with perfect HA. :) TFS.
Well I agree with almost everybody else it must be near the edge of a weir.
Whist the askew water may be a little distracting, IMHO it is still a good capture.
Looks like an infinity edge pool at an all-inclusive resort.
It is some sort of a waterfall or spillway, but not too much of a fall off, as the duck is near the edge. He doesnt seem too concerned about going over the edge, so there cant be too much water going over. Good sharp detail, light and colours on the duck, and I like the casual swimming pose.
Loved the light and head angle a lot. Terrific color on the bill. Its a very rare bird here.
I am also guessing there is a water fall off there. But it may not be as close to the duck as it seems...lots of focal length here to create compression.
Thanks all. I guess that Gary was the closest. The bird was floating in an big pond/pool that simply over-flowed onto the ground at the Naples Botanic Gardens. If I'd had more time I would have gotten higher to get the duck's back away from the edge (which, BTW, was round like a kid's pool) and then I would have gotten lower for an eye level image. That should have been my first choice...... IAC, a guy came to clean vegetation out of the pond and that was the end of the party as he was big and was in the pond...

I guess its taken in a infinite pool where the water is over flowing form the tank . Lovely feel here Artie
