    Hi guys...

Another one of my nightscapes...I'm probably posting more of these than daytime landscapes because I don't have time to edit (these are quicker than blending images :o)...

Taken in the Karoo desert, South Africa. I went for a darker feel here, especially pertaining to the foreground illumination to make it appear more natural.

    Techs:
    Canon 7D with 10-22mm USM
    f3.5 @ 25s @ ISO-2500
FG illuminated with LED torch bounced off my hand for a warmer tone

I like what you were trying to achieve here Morkel, but for mine it needs more torchlight time on the Aloe and some on the lower FG as it's a little too dark on my cal monitor.

Hi Morkel, I like what you chose as a foreground along with the mountain silhouette on the right. Have to agree with Marc regarding the faintness of the tree and foreground. I will say I'm not looking at this on a black backround which would probably make the lit areas stand out more. The sky appears well handled!

    Morkel,

I feel Marc and Dave are on track with their comments. I agree with them. If you could get the mountain outline more defined, that would be nice too.

I agree with the comments, Morkel. It is at first intriguing but ultimately doesn't hold my interest. I'll bet it would with the suggested changes. Right idea: go farther with it!:)

    Hey Morkel,
Just returned from Zion and Bryce......so late to this......I do think the suggestions were very good and you folowed the recomendations nicely! The repost works for me as in these images it is more about the night sky than the FG.....which you have simplified nicely and lit very well also! Very nicely done!
