Just a normal chameleon (I'm sure this one is a particular species native to Southern Africa, just haven't had the time yet to look it up :o)...taken on a night drive in the Kruger Park.

    Techs:
    Nikon D300s with 200-400mm VR @ 400mm
    f4.0 @ 1/125 SS @ ISO-800
    Exposure bias -1.7
Illuminated with a spotlight by the night drive guide.

    Morkel,

The obvious thing to say here is the leaf under the mouth is a bit of a nuisance, without it this would probably have been a very fine image.

Great use of spotlight , exposure and sharpness are good.

The leaf under the mouth is a shame, but would be happy to have this in my files.
Great subtle use of the spot light here Morkel, perhaps just a tad more USM on the head?

Morkel - Good detail on the head. I agree with the others about the leaf. I think I also would have preferred more DOF so that the underbody of the chameleon was in focus too. I find it amazing that trackers spot these tiny chameleons at night in the foliage.
