This mum flower was actually all yellow. I was playing around with selective color and happened upon this color effect that I really liked. I also added an Orton effect. Any comments and suggestions would be most appreciated!

    Hi Christopher,

I may be new at this, bit I can see what I like. I like this a lot, the color radiance is wonderful and the yellows are so intense while maintaining detail, great control of colors! I will have to read up on the Orton effect. The comp works and the DOF fade to the ULC is great.

    Cheers...................

Nice job! I like the orange you added as it draws my eye to the flower center. Great composition, color, brightness. You beautifully captured a beautiful flower. (There are a couple of dark spots you might want to clone out--lower left border and below and right of flower center.) The Orton effect is just right, not too much, but enough to add softness. This is a stunning image!

You really nailed this one! I love the comp and the orange center, and as pointed out by Jay, great control of the yellows which can be troublesome, for me anyway. The orton effect looks great.

Ditto. congrats. The off center, center was a good choice, too.
