    Crested Tern preening on a pier in late evening light. No eye contact I know, but I think I still like it...

    Canon EOS 30D, EF400mm f/4 DO IS USM, Tv, 1/1000Sec. Av F5.0, ISO Speed 250, Time 19:34.

    Really nice light and great colors with nice detail. I think that I'd move the bird to the right in the frame since he is "looking" to the left. You've already mentioned the eye contact which is usually pretty hard to get when they are preening.
