Another from last week's session with these awesome birds. Too many too choose from, so what am I doing to help with this? I'm heading back this week again!:p
I liked the calling pose here, something I wanted to get. The bird is full-frame equivalent. Wingtip was just about touching the top edge so I added canvas top and right to the original, then cropped just about the same ratio left and bottom for composition.
I like the composition, wing angle, eye contact, and preservation of detail in the light areas. Good work in adding canvas PP where the framing was too tight. And the lower and left wispy clouds add a nice touch to the blue sky.
It must have been exciting to be with those magnificent geese, exciting to take that shot, exciting to find it in your camera, and exciting to bring out its potential during PPS. Thank you for those details on the whites. Because the details are so sharp, my eye does not have to rely on the imagination to "see" the bird; I can therefore focus my imagination on the sound that must have been coming out of the goose's mouth. You've given us something to shoot for.
Excellent flying posture Dan, and tack sharp too. Good placement in the frame, well exposed, and the open beak adds interest. I do like the inclusion of the clouds too.
