Hi Tom... For me, the dark duck in the dark water seems overwhelmed by the brightly lit cattail stems. Also, the water droplets on his back are very white and look rather odd to me - a result of the flash, I expect?
Yes, the rain drops on the ducks were an exposure issue. I needed flash to get enough light and shutter speed, but the rain drops wanted to come out white and easyly blown out.
