The Olde Barn

The old barn just had to make an appearance for old photo week! :) I experimented with using two tintype textures on this photo: "My Favorite to Use(thanks, Anita, for posting the link to this one!)" and the 11th texture on this page here. I also applied one texture from Shadowhouse Creations, "Beneath the Surface1," and three of my own textures. I also used hue/saturation to add the sepia tone.

Any comments and suggestions would be most appreciated!

Christopher, the olde barn is like family here on BPN. Of course it has to make an appearance! If I'm not mistaken, this is your most involved treatment of it yet. Nice use of all those textures, they really add realism to the aging. This reminds me so much of my childhood in Indiana, living on the farm with my grandparents during summer. Very nice!

Lovely old barn! Nice photo of it, with the trees and grasses. As always, nice use of textures.

To my eye, the photo looks a bit flat. Perhaps that was your intention. I, however, would prefer it a bit more three dimensional. Maybe add contrast?

Yes, Kerry, this is probably my most involved treatment of the old barn yet, certainly the most distressed-looking.

I really like the treatment on this one. Good choice of textures. I like the colors and tones in it and I don't think it looks flat. Most really old photos are much less contrasty anyway.
