    Default Sandhill Crane Preening

Went out this evening after work and concentrating on getting some preening shots. Hopefully, I have put into the advise I received from my previous post to work. BG is not perfect but will strive for a better one next time. Thank you for those who have helped me in every way.

Yes, the BG is a problem. Because of it, you cropped in kind of tight. You recorded the feathers very faithfully, however. I can almost feel their fluffiness!

I agree with Craig about the feathers and I do like the preening pose and eye contact.

Troy, good preening pose, and I like the feather detail. I would add space all round, and have you tried toning down the BG in any way. It should work well.

Stuart, I have not tried toning it down, can you explain in what ways?

Love the sharpness, the wind blow feathers, and the preening look. Background does distract the subject (maybe too bright and green line intersecting the head), but I do like the hint of grass at the bottom.
