just saw this abandoned granary in town yesterday. But I think I kind of went overboard with the
Fractalius filter. lol perhaps if it wasn't so dark then you could distinguish the building.

this is how I adjusted the image, before the fract filter.

I like the fractalius the way it is Cheryl and the original is pretty cool too. Have tried putting the fractalius filter on a background layer and the reduce the opacity of that layer to bring back some of the original capture also. It might give you a third, cool version of this old building.

Cheryl, I agree with Andrew, if you use fractalius on a background copy you can reduce the opacity or use different blending modes to change the look. Here's a quick example - I used Fractalius Crayon Wide with a reduced opacity. I know it's not the look you were after (which I really like) but a different look. I love the base image:)

Cheryl, The fract looks good. The building looks a bit tight in the frame. I think Andrew offers a good solution for the detail. I do like the look of the building-it reminds me of a haunted house.

Cheryl, I like the heavy use of the fract filter in this one. I think the hint of building is enough for my imagination to work on and fill in the rest. If it were mine, I would just paint out the effect in the sky, so that you have a nice solid background for the building to help reinforce the structure. Cool!

Thanks, everyone! I appreciate your comments! :D Denise, the building is too tight in the frame, but at that point there were some ugly distractions which I could not clone out. Perhaps leave them in, anyway?

Cheryl, Maybe the filter would eliminate most of them?:) I do like Cheryl S's. post also. It is an interesting base image.

Very nice, Cheryl. Good advice above. You could also adjust the sliders on the tool to get the details. TFS.
