Here's another image from my long lost, haven't got a clue file...I think its a 1st winter McCown's Longspur. Taken on the border of Alberta and Saskatchewan, near the US border, in August. Taken through the window of the car, sorry for quality. Any help is appreciated....
Here's mine taken at Stanley Park last October in Vancouver, BC year:
A female McCowns Longspur. No idea why it showed up so far away from home. She was so tame that you could get within ten feet from it and it still wouldn't fly away. Taken with a 70-300 lens on my stomach.
A friend Dave from Coquitlam, sent me a photo of this bird, last year. Its always cool when a lost bird shows up. We recently had one of your common birds show up in Ottawa, not sure but it was a first record for Ottawa...a Golden Crowned Sparrow. Thanks for post Desmond...cool looking bird. Wish my image was a good....:o
